Indianapolis St. Patrick’s Day 2016 Events

Our favorite day to wear green and celebrate all things Irish is just around the corner! Celebrate your inner Irish (even if you technically don’t have any Irish ancestry) and attend some of our favorite events in the Indianapolis area for St. Patrick’s Day 2016!
Hoosier Lottery Greening of the Canal
Where: Downtown Indy Canal Walk
When: 5:00pm to 5:45pm on March 16
Start celebrating the night before St. Patrick’s Day by attending the annual Greening of the Canal! Watch the water become a beautiful shade of emerald, take in the sound of live music, and kick off the holiday with the Indianapolis community!
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Where: Downtown Indianapolis
When: 11:30am to 3:00pm on March 17
Watch local schools and organizations celebrate the Irish culture. Enjoy the sights of beautiful floats and the sounds of the bagpipes and drums.
Parade Block Party
Where: Vermont Street between Meridian and Pennsylvania
When: 10:00am to 3:00pm on March 17
Stop by during the parade and grab a drink from the beer garden or stock up on your favorite Irish goods while enjoying Celtic music! Free admission.
Downtown Irish Fest
Where: Rathskeller at the Athenaeum
When: 12:00pm to Midnight on March 17
Be entertained by the Irish Dancers of Indianapolis, Gordon Pipers, and other artists while trying authentic Irish cuisine. Free admission.
Shamrock Run/Walk and Shamrockin’ the Circle
Where: Monument Circle
When: 10:00am to 12:00pm on March 19
Let the Irish celebration continue on Saturday by participating in the Shamrock Run/Walk and Shamrockin’ the Circle! Wear your favorite shade of green, work off all that corned beef and soda bread, and enjoy the camaraderie of many other participants! Cost is $25.
