Best Indianapolis Restaurants on a Budget
By Product Expert | Posted in Indianapolis, Local Events, Stories of Interest, Tips and Tricks on Saturday, July 2nd, 2016 at 2:29 pmIt’s always nice to take a break from the home kitchen and go out for a meal. The only problem—eating out can be expensive, especially if you are bringing along the whole family! Luckily, the Indianapolis food scene has been growing in recent years, but still offers a great selection of restaurants that won’t deplete your billfold! Here are the best Indianapolis restaurants on a budget!
Edward’s Drive-In
Where: 2162 South Sherman Drive, Indianapolis
Typical Hours: 10:00am to 9:00pm Monday-Thursday, 10:00am to 10:00pm Friday-Saturday, 11:00am to 9:00pm Sunday
Edward’s Drive-In has been a long-time favorite restaurant here in Indianapolis! Guests are transported back to the 1950s and 1960s no matter if they choose to be served from their car or if they eat inside. The menu includes burgers, hotdogs, onion rings, homemade root beer, and their famous pork tenderloin sandwich! If you are visiting Indianapolis and looking for that quintessential Indy food item, the pork tenderloin sandwich is it, and nobody makes it better than Edward’s Drive-In! In fact, this restaurant has made an appearance on “Man vs. Food” from the Travel Channel! The full menu can be found on the diner’s website.
B’s Po Boy
Where: 1261 Shelby Street, Indianapolis
Typical Hours: 11:00am to 9:00pm Sunday-Thursday, 11:00am to 10:00pm Friday-Saturday
Although it is part of the Midwest, Indiana enjoys a fair amount of southern influence, especially when it comes to food. If you are craving for food typically found in New Orleans, B’s Po Boy in Indianapolis has just what you need at a great price. Although seafood dishes are listed at market price, this restaurant offers an extensive selection of salads and sandwiches for less than 10 dollars. There is also an outdoor patio for you to enjoy the beautiful summer weather here in Indianapolis! More information may be found on the restaurant’s website.
Three Carrots
Where: 222 East Market Street, Indianapolis
Typical Hours: 8:00am to 8:00pm
If you are vegetarian, vegan—or someone who enjoys a meatless dish once in awhile—and you are struggling with finding a delicious dining option, Three Carrots on East Market Street is a great option that is also inexpensive. The menu includes wraps, salads, seitan and tofu dishes, and delectable vegan desserts—and most items will be less than 10 dollars! Check out the Three Carrots Facebook page for more details!
